Minor Essay Topic: Conflict in the Indian Ocean

Minor Essay Topic: Conflict in the Indian OceanMany students struggle with the topic of their major paper. They are always on the look out for something that can be used to spice up their major paper. In this article I will discuss an idea for a minor essay which has been used successfully by many students and is not difficult to implement yourself.Let us begin by considering the topic of the subject matter. This is of course the actual research question which each student must answer in their study of the topic. You can ask yourself the question such as: 'What has been studied on the Indian Ocean?' If you answer that the subject of the study is 'Persian Gulf Shipping', then by all means use this as the topic of your topic paper.Next you should consider the current state of the world economy and decide on what actions you believe should be taken. A good place to start is with global news coverage. Many countries around the world have caught the attention of the media. It is generally agreed upon that China and India have been becoming more influential. In this article I will attempt to describe these two nations and illustrate how these nations have been involved in international trade. The economic crisis in the United States and the European Union has resulted in high unemployment. Chinese exports are a major factor in this, as the former USSR is now an alternative supplier. China is the largest importer of oil and gas. With over 60% of its exports going to the developing world and is growing in importance China has become an increasingly popular trading partner for the European Union. Other commodities China imports from the developed world include gold, clothing, machinery, computers, cars and of course petroleum products. The present political situation in the Indian Ocean is fascinating. The Maldives, a tiny island nation of two million people recently won its first freedom. It was after they fought a long, hard battle against the oppressive government in t he Maldives. The remaining political problems in the Indian Ocean have included Bangladesh independence, Zimbabwe in Africa, Afghanistan, and the break up of the Malay states of Sarawak and Brunei. It also includes several small independent states including Togo, Rwanda, and Gabon. Both China and India are becoming very concerned about this instability in the Indian Ocean. It seems China has become more interested in buying up assets in South East Asia including a large number of ports. China also seems to be more interested in fighting wars and making territorial claims. However, it is important to remember that China is the world's largest producer of steel and the most populous country. It is also considered to be one of the biggest economies in the world and one of the most powerful. In my opinion the political unrest in the Indian Ocean is one of the worst things that has ever happened. It is the perfect time to put together a political essay on a conflict in the Indian Ocean. Wh at is most important is the source of the conflict. Is it a result of Islamic fundamentalism? Is it a result of an ethnic cleansing done by the Indonesians or a result of the infighting in the African states? While we will never know the real reason behind the conflict in the Indian Ocean, it is my opinion that it would be a good subject for your minor paper.During this political upheaval in the Indian Ocean it is important to remember that the outcome will affect the rest of the world. The results of the current situation in the Indian Ocean could be different from those conflicts which occur in Eastern Europe or Latin America. For instance, many of the conflicts which occur in South East Asia have a direct impact on North America and the United States. The political turmoil in the Indian Ocean could result in more oil and fuel being shipped from the Middle East into Asia and China, which could be detrimental to the United States economy.
